A weekly letter on culture, attention, and our inner and outer lives, each Friday. Since the line is not a lid and nothing is glued, everything gets out. Drag anything. (it’s fine)

crossed the line. shhh.
Inside the line, everyone gets to play and everything is cared for.

We can change our minds, or not, and stay close. The truth is what keeps a circle free.

What’s inside gets out. A circle that gives gets larger.

Notes on the circle (pencil, one circle)
A magic circle is the people in it. shhh.
A circle is a line that makes a world. The drawing is the making. Words are the smallest circle there is: attention drawn around one thing and passed between people who want to look together, each one adding to it as it goes around.
A circle that never leaks is not a world, it is a vault. What makes it a world is that things cross, and that the crossing flows in both directions: what leaves changes the outside, what comes back changes the inside, and the line has to be redrawn after each one. Agency is not freedom from the line. It is a say in where it goes next. So this is a weekly test. The line redrawn each Friday.
free. Fridays. leave whenever.
